How Students Are Selected for Sponsored Camp Spots

Donors often ask a fair question before giving: who actually receives this support, and how are they chosen? Here is the selection process, step by step.

School Counselor Referral

Students are recommended by school counselors, the people best positioned to know which students would benefit from an educational overnight camp opportunity that fits their interests and needs.

Needs-Based Qualification

Each recommended student is qualified through a needs-based assessment confirming low-income household eligibility, so donations reach families facing real financial barriers.

Who Is Eligible

The campaign is focused on public and charter middle school students in Escambia County and Santa Rosa County, Florida, with students served as fundraising allows.

Why Middle School

Middle school is a formative window where confidence, belonging, and exposure to new possibilities can shape a student's academic and personal path.

Student Privacy Comes First

Student names, family financial details, and counselor notes are never published. Public reporting stays at the campaign and county level.

What Donors Can See

Donors can follow match progress, sponsorships funded, and county-level reach on the campaign updates page or through the newsletter in the footer.
